Where Brandon McClelland died

The two men who were in jail for 8 months charged with killing Brandon McClelland by dragging him in the quiet east Texas town of Paris, and released in June 2009 are back in jail once again. Shannon Keith Finley and Charles Ryan Crostley – 28yrs, were arrested on Tuesday in seperate incidents. Shannon Finley was booked in the Lamar County Jail charged with driving whle intoxicated. This is the 3rd time he has faced a DWI charge. He could be sentenced from 2-20yrs in the pokey if convicted. He was released on $10,000 bond. Charles Crostley was released on $5,000 bond facing misdemeanor charges.

These 2 men became known nationally after their arrest in the death of Mr. McClelland. He was found dead in Lamar County and was last seen with these 2 men.  He was allegedly hit and dragged with a pickup truck the suspects were driving. There was talk that blood and other matter was found on the undercarraige. The charges were dismissed after a truck driver came about to say he might have been the one to hit Brandon. No charges were ever brought against the truck driver. His claim and deposition came just mere weeks before Finley and Crostley were to go to trial.

Finley and Crostley were charged due to friends telling police that the men talked about his death and they were the last ones seen with him the night he died. Finley and Crostley have stated that the three were out drinking that night and an argument was started over who was sober enough to drive. They then clamin that Brandon McClelland got out of the truck and began walking along the farm road. Finley has a manslaughter conviction already in which he served 4 yrs in prison afte rhe killed one of his friends. He claims the shooting was accidental.
