Otty Sanchez eats her childs brains – Where is the justice?

Otty Sanchez and NewbornSan Antonio police police have accused a woman of beheading her 3 1/2 week-old infant son Scott Wesley Buchholtz-Sanchez with a steak knife and two swords and ate some of the poor baby’s body parts. Otty Sanchez ate part of the newborn’s brain and bit off three of his toes and than stabbed herself twice. She told the cops that the she killed her son because the devil told her to do it. She has been charged with capital murder and is being held on $1 million bail. Apparantly Ms. Sanchez’s mother called police after Sanchez woke her up around 4:30 a.m. Sanchez’s mother saw her sitting with the boy, he had been decapitated.

The mother took the baby, put him on a bed and called police. When police arrived Otty was yelling “I killed my baby. I want to die.” Officials carried two bags out of the home that contained the baby’s remains. The baby was also missing body parts which apparantly were inside the mothers stomach..

Ok so here is the thing.. Otty Sanchez is a diagnosed schizophrenic. However the father of the child Scott W. Buchholz Buchholz is himself also a schizophrenic and takes six anti-psychotic and anti-convulsive medications. He says that said Otty had postpartum depression and had been going to regular counseling sessions after the birth, but refused to take prescription medication for her depression. Why are two schizos having a baby and if they are, why in the world if she is not taking her medication does she have the child?! I am sorry but this just doesn’t seem right to me. It’s like throwing me walking into a tigers den and hoping I don’t get bitten..

For someone that is truely mentally incapacitated, how can they be charged with capital murder? Should she not be in a mental hospital?

    Crimes & Justice says…. I believe in free speech. However, I deleted your previous comments which were laced with expletives. I think this post gets your point across clearly and I will not delete it. It would have been nice to see you elaborate on why you feel this way…..

    Yet again, another mother commtis a horrible atrocity against her OWN child, this time probably being the most henious in recent history. And yet again, the state of Texas (which has executed scores of MEN for far less crimes) cries out for mental health “reform” instead of the needle or the chair.

    “How can you charge a mentally ill person with capital murder?”

    “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

    Blah blah blah… we’re not talking about punishment here! The death penalty doesn’t work as a punishment or a crime deterent (I think its a safe bet to say that China has proven that). This ISN’T about PUNISHMENT. This is about SAFETY. This is about people so sick the world would be a better place WITHOUT them.

    A person like this woman, who could suspend every thread of morality to commit acts so vile and horrific that the police officers attending to the crime scene will suffer nightmares for the rest of their lives… ugh!… should not even exist anymore.

    She has shown her capacity to disregard every context of conduct a human being SHOULDN’T even have to be told to conform to. She is the living embodiment of the excuse for reverting to Biblical-type execution (stoning, crucifixion, etc.). Man or woman, black or white, sane or insane… a person who can do what she did cannot continue to draw breath on this Earth. She is a menace and a monster. Even SHE tried to do the rest of humanity a favor by trying to kill herself!

    Fry that woman in the chair, cremate her body, collect her ashes and launch them into f*cking space so that I can sleep at night knowing a person like her cannot even be re-incarnated on this planet!

  • Otty’s Friend – Always!

    First of all, your article and comments sound a lot more intelligent than others out there. Thanks for your open-mindedness to ask your questions. In time, the details will unfold about the father. Besides his regular meds, he seeks out more pills and other drugs on a daily basis. Otty told me of her meds, and said that she felt too sleepy with them, and she had to be up to take care of Baby Scotty whenever he cries. If you see the complete interview from Father Scott on Ksat, you will see how he answers questions. Every answer is open-ended or off subject. They were not together for 6 years straight. They broke up, and she moved on and did better for herself. Then he BSed his way back into her life. Father Scott refuses to get a job, even thru Otty’s VERY difficult pregnancy – she tried working full time as a health care provider till the end! The company she worked for had to let her go because of her physical condition. In Scott’s interview, he will say how she was sitting on the couch and SHE needed to get a job. She was still recovering, yes she was going to be sitting down! This is what she had to deal with on a regular basis. Towards the end of her pregnancy, she called me extremely scared. She was having cramps and wasn’t sure if it was time yet. She wasn’t able to contact her family members, and Scott refused to help her. He was too busy talking to neighbors and drinking beer on the back porch. I lived really far, so I told her I would stay on the phone with her. She had no money for a taxi, so I told her to slowly grab whatever she really needed, like wallet and paperwork – and drive to the hospital. Everytime she felt another cramp, I instructed for her to pull over, but keep me on speaker phone. She was just about to drive away when Scott comes running asking what was going on. DUH! She asked several times for help! He decided to go with her, but was yelling at her the whole way. Once they were downtown, he refused to let her out by the front door, but drove in circles until he felt he had a good parking space. She would plead with him to let her out of the car, and he would refuse! It turned out to be false labor, and he got mad at her for wasting his time. She has an illness that made it critical that she went to the hospital, regardless if it was false labor. She dealt with so much. When she told me that she was afraid to take her meds because she might not wake up quickly enough to tend to Scotty, I told her to try to sleep when Scotty sleeps and go to a counselor to seek advice that could help her. Also, I Strongly advised that she left Scott and go with her mom. I had planned to move closer and be her baby sitter so she can get back on her feet – I just moved a week ago. It was all too much too fast. I truly think there is more to the story about Otty and Scott’s last visit. She was way too cautious about safety to drive off in a reckless way. The details will unfold in time. And Scott will be held accountable too.
