Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich arrested and charged

I was suprised by the announcement of the arrest of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Arrested on multiple counts at that! Apparantly the feds have been investigating him for over 3 years. I guess trying to sell the the U.S. Senate seat was just too much for them to take.. This is a bit of an embarassment for Barack, but the Feds have ensured that it is not in any way shape or form related to him.

“The breadth of corruption laid out in these charges is staggering,” U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, the federal prosecutor, said in a statement.

For a guy that started from the bottom and worked his way to the top, it’s a real shame to see him destroy himself like this.
