Well now call him the former, shamed Governor of Illinois Mr. Rod Blagojevich. He has been impeached by a vote of 58-0. After showing up before the Illinois State Senate panel and giving a 45 min spill of “How can you impeach me, etc,” the State Senate did just that. Not one voted in his favor… even Nixon managed to gain a few votes. He is to be removed from office immediately.
Not only have they removed him from office effective immediately, the Senators also have voted for the Political Death Penalty; meaning he can never hold political office in Illinois again. The vote passed once again 58-0 and it is effective immediately.
Word is that Blagojevich’s bags are already packed and that the Lt. Governor, Pat Quinn is waiting in the hallway to be sworn in at this very moment. One can only imagine the thoughts going through Blagojevichs head tonight.
