Cold Case – Sharon Thor murder case reopened

Sharon Thor would be 43-yrs old now if she was still alive. The cold case involving her murder is now being resurrected. Sharon Thor was last seen on Oct. 26, 1982 at 5:30pm. Two men were seen driving Sharon from her house.These men were in their late teen to early 20’s and police believe they lived in the area.

Sharon received a phone call just minutes before she left for her ballet lesson. After the phone call, she told her parents she wold be back and someone in the neighborhood say her get in the car with the two men. Three days later, her body was found in a wooded area. She was beaten to death and had been sexually assaulted. The murder weapon of choice appears to have been a bloody cinder-block and a piece of lumber found hear her body. The killers tried to conceal her body by covering it.

Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne J. Forrest says that new leads suggest more than one killer and that Sharon may have known her attacker(s). Prosecutor also states that the offenders most likely lived in the Franklin Township area.
