Crime News, Featured

The slaying of a 33-year-old hair stylist Samantha Anielski found dead early Wednesday, was the first homicide in rural Portage County, Ohio in at least 13 years. Her fiance Mark Mann – 29 has been charged with her murder and is being the County Jail on a $2 million bond. One of Samantha’s relatives have been quoted in the news as saying that investigators told the family she died of blunt force trauma. In the 911 call to police Mark Mann states the very same thing.

Listen to the 911 Call

The victim’s brother-in-law, Steve Michniak of Streetsboro, said both of the couple’s families were reeling.

“It’s very shocking,” he said. “They lived together on the farm and have been dating for 18 months. They were engaged, but had not yet set a date. They had arguments like everyone else, but this is just horrible.”

Mann  is said to have served two tours of duty in Iraq and worked as a mechanic at the National Guard’s Unit Equipment Training Site in Ravenna. Samantha was a graduate of Streetsboro High School and worked as a beautician for Chamberlain’s Salon and Spa in Aurora for about five years.

This case sickens me and is becoming too main stream lately. Men killing their wives and girlfriends and vice versa. He doesn’t even sound distraught during the 911 call. It’s chilling to the bone.

I have known Sam and the family for many years. How dreadful that a human being (someone that supposedly LOVES you) would do something as horrible and brutal to his future wife. I understand that she was sleeping as it was 3am in the morning, she did not have a chance and he certainly did not give her one. These are the people who want someone to feel sorry for them, I hope he gets his. The victims cannot have any say in the matter, that’s the trouble.
