Alexis Pounder tortured and starved to death by dad and girlfriend

On Jan. 9th, 2010, deputies responded to a disturbance call in Sandy, Ore and found the body of Alexis Pounder. Alexis’s father Donald Cockrell and his girlfriend Michele Smith have now been arraigned on murder by abuse charges. They did not enter please during a Monday Clackamas County Circuit Court hearing. They have requested that Judge Robert Herndon provide them with attorneys and are being held without bail.

Although police are not releasing specific details, they are saying that Alexis was starved and tortured to death. Detectives also state that her sister shows signs of torture as well. The family lived in Michele Smith’s parents home with five children in a separate downstairs unit. Alexis is said to have died from blunt force trauma and “acute starvation.” Donald Cockrell and Michele Smith both worked as security guards for DePaul Industries and their licenses have now been revoked since their arrests. The remaining children have all been removed from the home, however it appears there are no other adults that are in a capable state to care for them. A judge has refused to give the surviving daughter to Alexis’ mom, Heather Pounder due to an alleged drug habit. The other three children belong to Michele Smith and all have different fathers. Currently police are trying to locate them. When an Oregon judge viewed the pictures of Alexis’ body he found them so disturbing that he had them sealed.

May god rest her soul. For more information see Crimesider.

This truly makes me ill. So many fight so hard to have one precious child in their lives, and these animals abuse such a great gift. They are literally wasting our oxygen.

It is apparent from the photos that she’s underweight and unkempt. I doesn’t take rocket science to figure it out. So…why did NO ONE notice?

That 4th photo of her in the dress is absolutely adorable. She was a beautiful little girl.

it’s pretty obvious that these “parents” are meth addicts. the man’s face is haggard and aged when compared to his myspace photos, and the woman’s face is covered in meth sores. meth addiction just erases any vestige of a soul someone may have, and these two (especially that “father”) don’t look like they had much to begin with. meth addicts aren’t exactly known for their patience and selflessness…i can’t imagine they would be up to the task of caring for children at all, especially five little ones. this poor baby girl didn’t have a chance, with these two responsible for her care. frankly, it’s a wonder that she lived as long as she did, and that the other children didn’t die, as well. i can only assume that they were probably older and as such, better capable of staying out of the way, and therefore avoiding the brunt of the abuse. probably also better able to find food for themselves when their meth-addled parents failed to provide it.

    poor sweet girl. RIP, baby…

Reviewed “Dad” myspace page….seemed to be a little sadistic. It is a wonder the child lived as long as she did. Poor baby. Didn’t the grandparents ever see this child? And he stated that he is a ‘proud parent’ on his myspace page….what a joke he is!!!

Why does it appear that this babies hair is dirty in most of these photos? Did they never bath her? She is an angel back with God in Heaven!
